CAP Professional Development Program

The purpose of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Professional Development Program (CAPR 50-17) is to develop “an informed, active senior membership trained in leadership, management, and functional tasks. The CAP Senior Member Professional Development Program prepares members to serve their units, their community, and their nation.” This website is part of the wing's effort to make resources and learning opportunities available to it's senior members.

The CAP Senior Member Fast Start Handbook provides an excellent overview of CAP, its missions, functions, and it‘s command functions. It is recommended that a new senior member review the Fast Start Handbook as part of their initial orientation to CAP.

CAP Professional Development Program consists of five levels. Each level is briefly explained below.
