The Civil Air Patrol is a Congressionally-chartered community service organization which, when performing missions for any agency of the Federal government is deemed to be an auxiliary of the United States Air Force. With over 56,000 professionally trained volunteers, CAP represents a locally available talent and asset pool for municipal, state, and federal government entities to utilize as a cost effective aerial and ground support resource.
In Vermont, CAP’s Vermont Wing stands ready as a viable asset to support our community, state, and nation. CAP volunteers carry out the Congressionally chartered mission of Emergency Services (includes search and rescue, homeland security and disaster relief, Aerospace Education, and the Cadet Program in an admirable and professional manner.
